UK cover reveal

Monsters will come out the same day in the US and the UK—it’ll be the same book but will have funny spellings in the UK. It’s been a joy working with the team at Sceptre. My editor there, the brilliant Charlotte Humphery, has fought hard for the integrity of the book and I’m hugely grateful to her.

I’m also in love with the cover they came up with—it uses a painting by the British painter Cathy Lomax depicting the scene at a Bay City Rollers concert. It’s hard to tell if the girls are in ecstasy or pain. I find it moving and sort of hilarious that they are so heated up over such a meh band. It speaks deeply to the themes of the book. I am, after all, trying to write an autobiography of the audience, so I love having the audience be the focus of the cover image.

Feeling very happy to have two covers (US and UK) that I love so much.

The book is available to pre-order on both sides of the Atlantic, through your local indie or through Amazon and Amazon UK.
